HERBERT, Edward, Lord of Cherbury
   one of the intellectual sources of DEISM he rejected REVELATION and taught that RELIGION is based on a BELIEF in GOD who should be WORSHIPED through virtuous action. Humans are responsible to REPENT for SIN and should BELIEVE in life after death.
